One of the real pleasures of our VILLAGE SUMMIT event is the ability to reward individuals for their achievement in our Professional Development Program.
The achievement – reaching the milestone of 1,000 Professional Development Points.
Every topic completed in our Knowledge Centre, or event attended (whether in person or online) accumulates Professional Development Points. These points sit on a transcript, with 1,000 Points being achieved after 3-4 years as part of our program.
Two year’s ago we launched the 1,000 Club for these professionals. In 2024, we welcome 39 individuals – our highest number in a single year.
What is more, in 2024 we also had our first group of participants achieve 2,000 Professional Development Points. Amazing.

About Professional Development Points
The DCM Institute program now has over 600 active participants, with over 1,000 village professionals having participated in the ongoing 12-month program.
DCM Institute is now the largest peer network of village professionals in Australia, offering continuous learning modules on our Knowledge Centre and a range of face-to-face supports, including:
- Two Professional Development days in every State each year
- One annual Village Summit, hosted in five capital cities every November
- Regular online Masterclasses on topics ranging from disaster management to wound care
Professional Development Points are achieved along a participants journey with us. Its possible to achieve 460 Professional Development Points each year with us – more if you are extremely motivated given our rich library of content and learning modules.
