Celebrating Mother’s Day at St Louis Estate

Mother’s Day is always a special occasion at St Louis Estate. For us it is a time to pause, reflect, and celebrate the incredible women in our community. While traditionally centred around mothers, it’s also about recognising all women and the unique journeys, roles, and contributions they bring to village life.
This year, we’re looking forward to gathering for a beautiful Sunday Roast Lunch in our recently refurbished dining rooms within the Hinemoa Homestead, a much-loved heritage building at the heart of St Louis. The Homestead provides a warm and welcoming setting, perfect for residents to come together with family and friends to share a meaningful meal and create lasting memories.
As a gesture to celebrate and honour the women within our community, all women attending will receive a custom-made sugar cookie in the shape of a bouquet of chrysanthemums which symbolism love, loyalty, friendship, and longevity, these values strongly reflect the spirit of our residents.
The gift is intended to acknowledge all women: mothers, grandmothers, stepmothers, those who have chosen not to have children, those who hoped to become mothers, and the many women who nurture, support, and care for others in their own unique ways. We believe Mother’s Day is not solely about one role, but about recognising the compassion, strength, and impact women have throughout all stages of life.
