As part of its funding from NSW Fair Trading, the peak body for retirement village residents is developing three videos relating to life in retirement villages and six on Resident Committees.
Newly elected President Roger Pallant is hosting the videos, with the first on costs before you move into a retirement village. Then there will be one on the cost of living in a retirement village and the third will be the costs when you exit a retirement village.
Roger told FRIDAY the RVRA receives around 500 calls annually, with a significant number from residents about costs, even from the children of residents.
“We put in a proposal to make these videos as we think they will be beneficial to anyone thinking of being in a retirement village, who is living in a retirement living or is concerned about when they leave,” Roger said.
The first video was released this week, and is about the costs of moving into a retirement village.

Roger and the NSW RVRA will be working with the DCM Institute on more educational content for retirement village residents early in 2026.
