Retirement Village Residents Invited to Have Their Say on Support at Home

Residents living in retirement villages across Australia are being invited to share their experiences in a National Resident Survey on Support at Home.

This initiative, coordinated by the Retirement Village Resident Associations across the country, aims to better understand how recent changes are impacting residents to ensure their voices are heard.

Why this survey matters

The Support at Home program, introduced in November 2025, has changed how many residents access services that support independent living.

While the intent of the program is to improve care and support, many residents are still navigating what these changes mean in practice.

This survey provides residents with an opportunity to:

• Share where they are in their Support at Home journey
• Provide feedback on whether they are receiving the services they need
• Highlight any challenges, delays, or additional costs they are experiencing

Why resident participation is critical

The message is simple: their say matters.

The DCM Institute supports these initiatives by the Residents Associations as it brings attention to issues that matter to older Australians living in retirement villages across the country.

The more residents who participate, the stronger the evidence base to:

• Identify emerging issues
• Influence policy and program improvements
• Advocate for better outcomes for residents

How to take part

Residents are encouraged to take part in the survey, which takes less than 10 minutes to complete and is anonymous.
