It is billed as being unlike any other GemLife resort and Suzette Godier-Donnelly is coming home as its resort manager.
After 31 years working for Westpac and Bank of Queensland, Suzette will be able to answer and solve any financial issues for GemLife Moreton Bay‘s homeowners and contract holders as resort manager.
But the Team Manager for Godier-Donnelly Racing, which competes in the Motorsports Australia State Championship Race Meetings, is far more than just a women with a head for numbers and figures.
Her appointment is in her hometown of Moreton Bay, which means she’ll spend less time in traffic and more time with her husband Chris and daughter Arielle, 10.
She had been travelling 23km to work in the city at accountancy firm Northern Business Consultants, but the drive could take up to 90 minutes each way.
“I am so excited to be working for GemLife which is close to my home and in the Moreton Bay area which I’ve been in my whole life,” she said.
“I can’t wait to meet all the homeowners and contract holders, and their pets too, and watch as they enjoy the lifestyle and community being created here.”
Although resort management is new to her, in banking Suzette managed teams of up to 170 people so leading and being organised is part of her DNA.
“It’s only my first week at GemLife and I am amazed by how accommodating everyone has been,” she said.
“Since walking through the door, I’ve been made to feel welcome and have been immediately accepted like family. The people are so genuine, I feel like I’ve been here before!”
In the spirit of international dog and cat days which are this month, does Suzette have any pets?
“I have two ragdoll-crosses – Tabitha and Toby, who are siblings and are 15 years old – and a miniature fox terrier called Mitch, 17, who I’ll also love seeing more of by working closer to home.”
Civil, commercial and residential constructions teams are creating something special. The first homes in Stage One were released to homeowners in July. The Summer House is scheduled for opening in November with the pool and spa shell concreted.
