“Best DCMI [Professional Development] day I’ve been to yet. Enjoyed the mix of sales and management.”
This is the feedback we have been getting this week as our Professional Development series returned to Adelaide and Perth.
The theme for these workshops has been ‘everyone works in sales’, in recognition that both village management and sales have a shared role when it comes to creating great resident outcomes and to maintain a thriving and viable sector.
Our first event since February when we explored Village Budgets in detail, it was like we’d never left with the strong collegiate atmosphere picking up where we left off.
Joined by subject matter experts in retirement village law and village sales, both days were filled with robust conversation regarding the challenges faced by village professionals – especially the challenge of having difficult conversations in instances where someone is identified as being not suitable for independent living during the sales process.
What has been great to see is that more than one-third of attendees were joining us for the very first time. One attendee, in fact, wasn’t just joining us for the first time, but it was her first day on the job! What an induction into the sector!
